| Voting and Election reform is a cornerstone of my campaign. We need to fine tune our systems so that they work together which currently doesn't exist. By modernizing the process not only would it streamline the process but would allow for a better system of checks and balances that would combat potential fraud. We need to get back of a government for and by the people and to do that we must get big money out of the process so the voice of the individual is again heard. | |||

| I support the death penalty but realize also the flaws in the current system. We need criminal justice reform that puts the focus back on rehabilitation. When someone commits a heinous act however if it can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to remove any doubt criminal punishment should be allowed. For individuals under 18 while I believe they shouldn't be charged as adults I also believe that it should be different for repeat offenders. If using the juvenile rehabilitation system didn't work stronger actions have to be taken as an adult. | |||

| I oppose welfare application drug testing due to the fact that in every instance it has been implemented it cost the state more than it saves. I much rather spend that money to help more people than on a test that has such a low rate of positive test. While I support requiring employers to provide paid family leave I believe its a federal not state requirement. If we as a state require it and not neighboring states it would have a negative impact on us economically. | |||

| I oppose federal education standards because I believe that states and more so local leaders more understand the needs of their students. Education needs to be more 1 on 1 based and using federal guidelines would directly contradict this. I support funding charter schools because I support education choice. I do however believe that if a charter school or ANY non public school receive public funds they must meet the minimum state guidelines as public schools require. I support immigrants who pay taxes in the state of NC to be eligible for in-state tuition. | |||

| I support environmental regulations in the regard that we need minimum and baseline restrictions to keep corporations honest. In the past history has taught us that the lack of such regulations destroy not just our environment but also negatively effect our quality of life. Just the same we have to be cautious not to over regulate again negatively effecting our way of life due to job loss and economical downturn. | |||

| I support common sense gun control regulation but I will always side on the behalf of maintaining our constitutional rights. I believe that private transfer should be treated the same as any new gun purchase and that we have to be vigilant in background checks AS WELL AS correcting the process so that all systems communicate and no one is able to slip through the cracks due to not being properly updated. While I support teachers being allowed to carry I believe that should be left up to the indivudal school and district. | |||

| I support an individual making the decision to die through euthanasia but believe there must be a strenuous process to prove mental competence and is a decision that can only be made by the individual just the same as deciding on a Do Not Resuscitate order. Language has to be specific in any bill for this. Just as I previously stated I support paid medical leave but believe that must be handled on a federal level. During state of emergencies such as COVID-19 I support it on a state level if state funded at no cost to the company. | |||

| I'm the candidate of transparency. So a cornerstone of my campaign is a full legislative review of every law currently on the books to eliminate any loopholes and redundancy while at the same time correcting language that allowed for unintended blind spots. I support the Clean Bill Act. I support term limits for all elected offices. I'm a strong advocate for the need of high speed internet being deemed a utility and rural expansion. I support the legalization and expansion of marijuana and hemp as the states new cash crops. I support allowing privatizing alcohol sales. | |||
| My top legislative priority is the full review of every law currently on the the books. This will have the most impact across the most areas as well as set the foundation for everything else I believe needs to be accomplished by giving us a clean slate and knowing what and where we need to focus our attention moving forward. Funding is already available for such a project so no additional funds would have to be pulled from other areas. |
